Michael, the 6-year-old son of Marine Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney, could not walk when he was deployed. Michael suffers from cerebral palsy, and doctors had warned his family that he would never be able to walk or do much else. Michael, on the other hand, proved them incorrect!
Michael was determined to learn to walk while his father was abroad so that he could surprise his father. The family kept it a secret, so when Dad arrived home, he was greeted with a warm greeting he’ll never forget!
Watch Cooney’s sweet reaction when he discovers Michael is approaching him! When the two embrace, it’s difficult not to cry. Bravery is a family trait!
