Ricky the cat doesn’t have much in the way of neighborly affection, especially when it comes to the stray cat who hangs around at his apartment complex. His arch nemesis’s scent, in fact, drives him insane.
Ricky’s owner shows how irritated he is with his foe by going outside and petting a random cat before returning inside to pet Ricky. When he smells her hand, he has a striking reaction.
“Ricky freaks out even at the smell of the stray cat in my apt complex,” she writes. In search of Ricky, the typically friendly cat would stay around my front entrance and climb up to my balcony. Ricky had previously been in a fight that resulted in him needing stitches in his foot… Ricky is no longer allowed to go outside without my supervision. He was evidently still driven insane by the stray’s aroma.”
Ricky wasn’t going to have to fight for his turf for much longer. Ricky currently lives with two other male cats whom he “gets along with famously,” according to Mom. He’s returned to “his normal, sluggish self,” she adds.
