Picasso, a five-year-old dog, was born with a crooked nose, and Newt, a one-year-old dog, was born with no upper jaw after being stunk by his mother when he was a puppy. Two dogs with severe facial blights have been chosen as life partners.
Liesl Wilhardt, the 53-year-old author and director of Lovable Dog Rs, has given us a glimpse into Picasso and Newt’s unshakeable bond. Despite the fact that both dogs have significant facial blemishes, they live happily on 55 acres of land in Oregon, USA.
Liesl purchased Picasso in 2017 after his stock d.i.e.d unexpectedly, and espoused Newt in 2021, and the two came thick and fast. Picasso, five, was born with a crooked conk, while Newt, one, was born with no upper jaw after his mother smelt him. Despite the daily challenges posed by their scars and Newt’s medical ventures, the couple now enjoys a very happy life.
We observe their bond through a series of photographs depicting their daily activities, such as feeding, playing together, going for walks, and gathering berries. “It was a miracle that Picasso survived being energized,” Liesl continued, “because it would have been extremely delicate for him to nurse from his mother.”
” Newt has faced a number of new challenges, the majority of which were unrelated to his loss of an upper jaw. Both Picasso and Newt enjoy interacting with people, so when they’re out in public, they’re sociable, seek attention, and enjoy chatting with strangers.”
“The majority of people do a double-take and stare at the dogs for a long time, trying to make sense of what they’re seeing.” They’re not in; they’ve grown accustomed to their physical limitations and can get almost anything they want. Newt has been Picasso’s favorite since the beginning because he enjoys playing and scuffling and is a joy to be around. Their bond grew stronger as Newt grew older. I adore Picasso and Newt with all my heart; they’re both wonderful, joyful, intelligent, and amusing dogs.”
