Witnessing a stranger transform into a hero in front of your eyes is an unforgettable experience.
Bobby L’Heureux became Sara Melnicoff’s hero when he saved her senior dog from being swept away in a river.
Sara was so grateful to her Good Samaritan that she wrote on Facebook about how he saved the day, and her post has since gone viral. She stated, ”
“This morning in the Powerdam area, my dear dog Carli was swept away by the raging waters of Mill Creek. I saw her rushing by, barely able to keep her head above water. When I got to the area that overlooks the Tea Cup, I was running along the creek, calling her name.
“I was about to take off my shoes and go into the water to try to find her when this young man appeared out of nowhere, naked except for his boxers.” He dove into the water, slipping and sliding along the slick rocks as the water’s powerful currents rushed all around him.”
“He was able to get a hold of Carli some distance downstream. She was trembling like a leaf and had very little energy left. She is 13 years old and mostly senile, with arthritis in her back legs. (Just like me!)”
“When he brought Carli to me, I was very shaken and teary. She wrote, “I asked him his name and gave him a big hug.”
At the end of the day, Bobby’s bravery led to Sara repaying Bobby’s kindness. “I asked him what his favorite charity was so I could make a do.na.ti.on in his name, and he told me he runs a non-profit!” she wrote.
Big Heart, Big Hands, Take a look at them. I owe him a huge debt of gratitude for saving my girl. Bobby, thank you!”
Bobby’s good deed has been recognized, which is wonderful! Spread the word about Sara’s story to your family and friends!
