Eileen Eagle Bears and her horse, Mr. Smudge, went on repeated hour-long expeditions in the middle of a snowstorm in Manitoba, Canada, to provide food to a truck driver who was stranded in his vehicle.
Eileen and her family had seen the stranded trucker on a road’s surveillance cameras and felt compelled to aid him. So the next morning, the teen rode out into the frigid winds and snowy road with her beloved horse and a thermos of hot coffee.
Peter Douglas was sleeping in his semi-truck when she arrived an hour later. When Peter heard a tapping on his window, he looked up to see Eileen standing there with her horse and fresh coffee. And her generosity didn’t stop there. She returned with a steaming stew and potatoes later.
To Eileen’s amazement, what she accomplished has since gone viral. “The world needs more kindness,” Eileen simply stated when asked why she did what she did.
Listen to Eileen tell her experience to CBC News in an interview with Mr. Smudge by her side. What a remarkable young lady she is!
Please tell your friends and family about her good deed.
