The World’s Oldest Gymnast Takes To The Parallel Bars To Inspire Young Girls

Johanna Quaas met young gymnasts at the International Gymnastics Training Camp in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, a few weeks before her 89th birthday, and took to the parallel bars!

The oldest active gymnast in the world is a former PE teacher from Leipzig, Germany, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. She began gymnastics training in her 50s and competed for the first time at the age of 56. “I hope the album inspires others to understand it’s never too late to attempt something new,” Johanna remarked. Her recent demo, I’m sure, did precisely that!
