Laura Bretan, 13, claimed she was worried about performing in front of Simon Cowell and the other judges before walking into the “America’s Got Talent” stage. She was giddy with anticipation, but she also didn’t want to make a mistake. That’s why what happened afterwards was so remarkable.
The judges and audience are obviously gasping from the time Laura begins singing the opera classic “Nessun Dorma.” The judges are astounded that such a powerful voice can come from such a young person.
“That didn’t happen by chance.” “In all the years I’ve been doing these things, I’ve never heard anything like it,” judge Simon Cowell stated later. “Seriously. It was incredible. And the fact that you are such a sweet person – so humble, not even aware of how amazing you are – made it even better. Thank you so much for taking the time to come on our show. That was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Amazing.”
It was judge Mel B’s turn after the other judges had praised about Laura’s incredible performance. “I believe this show will radically change your life,” claimed the judge and former Spice Girl. “And right now, I’m going to transform your life.” She then presses the Golden Buzzer, allowing Laura to go to the live competition. It’s a really moving moment for a young girl who clearly has a lot of potential.
