The challenge is said to have begun after a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office officer uploaded a video of himself lip-syncing to the Kumbia Kings’ Fuiste Mala. An officer from the San Antonio Police Department uploaded his lip sync video of NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye after a few days.

From a simple video of the officers sitting in a car to a full-fledged production with choreography, there’s something for everyone. The video begins with the chief exclaiming, “I thought this was a party, everybody dance!” as confetti is thrown at him, and the party begins. They demonstrated not only their lip sync abilities, but also their dancing abilities.

Officers can be seen dancing in Nixa’s streets, at the office, and in the parking lot. Nixa’s local community even took part in the performance, kicking off their Sunday shoes as a group. The video depicts community unity as people of all ages, from children to seniors, have a good time dancing with the officers. It was an incredible scene to witness.

The Footloose video has since gone viral, with over 2 million views on Facebook and over a hundred thousand views on Youtube. The officers emphasized that they were not required to pay for video production. They were able to shoot and edit the video on their own with the help of their Public Information Officer.
