Teenager Begs His Teacher to Adopt Him After Years in Foster Care

Anthony Berry, 16, had been in foster care for the majority of his life and did not want to be adopted. That is, until he met Bennie Berry, his English teacher.

So the adolescent decided to approach her in class one day. Bennie thought he was joking at first, until he explained the situation to her. She told Anthony that he needed to finish his assignment before he could show her the adoption website.

Things moved quickly after that, and Anthony officially became Bennie’s son a year after asking to be adopted, and the two couldn’t be happier. Anthony is overjoyed to have a mother.

Berry is overjoyed as well, telling 12 News Now, “I have a son.” I’m more than overjoyed. For the rest of my life, I’ll have a son.”

Anthony says he wants other children to understand that it is never too late to find a forever family. “There’s always someone who will love you, give it a chance,” he says.
