This wild pony was only a few days old when he was discovered wandering around in Dartmoor National Park, desperately looking for his mother. Breeze’s mother had abandoned him, but The Mare and Foal Sanctuary was notified. Breeze collapsed in their arms when they arrived, suffering from severe shock and dehydration.
He was rescued and given a giant teddy bear (named Button) to comfort him, which the staff knows is beneficial in cases like Breeze’s. “We always give our orphaned foals a giant cuddly toy as a companion,” The Mare and Foal Sanctuary executive director Syra Bowden said in a statement. “They’re just like human babies in the way it comforts them.”
Breeze immediately took to Button, and as you can see in the video, the extra-large stuffed animal is assisting him in sleeping and getting through a difficult time.
