Professional soccer players enter the field with shelter dogs in need of homes.

When the Zenit soccer platoon in Russia decided to raise awareness for harbors and pet surrender, they tried to come up with a stylish way to communicate their message — and they were completely successful.

Rather than making a few videos or a commodity about their cause, the organization chose to do something a little more tangible. They teamed up with some original harbors, who brought them a bunch of tykes in need of homes — and at the start of a game, the players walked out onto the field, each carrying a lovable sanctum doggy.

Soccer players carrying and, more recently, melting over adoring pets in need of forever homes? There has never been anything more adorable.

The pets were of various sizes and weights, and while some of them seemed perplexed, they were all ecstatic to get some cuddles regardless of where they were.

From the pets themselves to the aesthetics on the players’ faces as they held them, the whole thing was infernally lovable. If there’s a better way to promote pet relinquishment than this, it hasn’t been planted yet.

Hopefully, as a result of this event, some of these kids will find their forever homes, and in any case, everyone’s fingers are crossed that the Zenit soccer platoon will do it again very soon.
