When it comes to dog and human friendships, none are more heartwarming than those formed between children and their canine companions. They form lifelong, deep, and love-filled bonds. And it’s frequently centered on a wonderful dog who unquestionably assumes the roles of protector and friend. When Amber sent us this sweet story about her senior dog, Larry, she said, “He’s such a dog.”
Larry, nine years old, has spent a lot of time with his human’s niece. Larry’s mother, Amber, claims that he has been protecting her niece since she was born. Amber told DogHeirs.com, “He actually was with my sister during her pregnancy and deterred an intruder when she was home alone.”
Amber’s niece “loves him to pieces” and the dog and child adore each other.
When Amber describes Larry, she describes him as “happy, spirited, and at ease.” “After he became a distinguished gentleman, his hair turned white.” He’s also a caring member of the family. Amber explains, “He’s been there for me through school, relationships, and many difficult times…” “Despite his white fur, he’s still a young man at heart.”
