George and Amal Clooney adopted a starving Basset Hound from the streets.

This is a true rags-to-riches tale! George and Amal Clooney have adopted Millie the Basset Hound, who was discovered begging for crumbs outside a California restaurant.

The homeless 4-year-old dog was discovered outside a neighborhood restaurant in early October and brought to the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

According to reports, the famous Hollywood celebrity and his wife discovered Millie’s picture on Petfinder and came to the shelter with their other rescue dog, Louie, to meet her.

The Clooneys spent time getting to know Millie and determining if the two dogs would get along. According to shelter spokesman Lynn Collmann, the Clooneys questioned questions of the staff before adopting her on the spot.

Consider visiting your local shelter first if you’re serious about obtaining a pet. Millie is one of many great dogs looking for a home!
