Cute Dog Relaxes In An Old Armchair

When someone took the time to see and save Duke, his life truly began!

Duke was a sad-looking canine who liked to curl up in an old armchair. He didn’t have anywhere else to go. If he roamed around looking for scraps, he’d return to that recliner and stay there all day. It was his only haven.

No one was interested in assisting. Until…

Someone in the neighborhood took a picture of Duke and uploaded it to Facebook. His mother had spotted the dog around the neighborhood for a while, according to the young man. He went on to say that Duke was frail and covered in mange, and then he appealed to the public for assistance.

When Leslie Ysuhuaylas saw the images, she was shocked. Ysuhuaylas is a Rescue Dogs Rock NYC volunteer from Texas. She contacted another volunteer and dispatched her to go fetch Duke right away.

Ysuhuaylas told The Dodo, “He was extremely terrified, and he didn’t really trust anyone.” “He was quite cautious.”

Duke was able to be loaded into the car and driven to a Dallas emergency vet clinic by the volunteer. Duke was dehydrated, anemic, flea and mange-infested, and had cataracts. His teeth had also been filed down, which is a telltale sign of a bait dog.

Fighting dogs are trained using bait dogs. They are frequently restrained, with their lips taped shut. What they have to go through is the most heartbreaking thing any animal should ever have to go through. It’s no surprise Duke sought solace in that recliner.

Duke has been doing really well at the clinic, and he’s also improving his confidence. His skin is starting to clear up, and his eyes appear to be improving. He will make a full recovery, according to the volunteers. Duke will then travel to New York City, where he will be placed for adoption.

Perhaps an armchair will be included in his new forever home. The ideal armchair that will never be exposed to rain, cold, or uncaring passers-by. That sounds like something he’d enjoy.
