Donut City, a doughnut shop in Seal Beach, California, has been managed by John Chhan and his wife Stella for 30 years. Families have grown up with these delicacies, and they’ve become a staple in the neighborhood.
Customers recently decided to aid Stella and her husband after they learnt about their medical problem. Last month, Stella had a brain aneurysm and is now in a nursing home.
The Chhans requested that no crowdfunding pages be created in their name. Customers opted to show their support by purchasing doughnuts, as they did in the past.
Customers arrive early to purchase as many doughnuts as possible, sometimes dozens at a time. Every morning, people are buying up the store’s merchandise so Chhan can close early and care for his beloved wife. He is quite appreciative of the help he is receiving from his consumers.
