Abby, a black Labrador mix, went missing ten years ago and then reappeared, much to her family’s surprise.
The long-lost dog was discovered on a man’s porch in Apollo, Pennsylvania, just 10 miles from where she was last seen by her family. Debra Suierveld, Abby’s mother, was convinced Abby had died after she vanished over a decade ago.
In the video below, Debra says, “We thought she had passed away.” “It feels like a piece of my children’s childhood has returned, a piece of our family has returned.” It’s pretty fantastic.”
Abby was last seen by Debra playing with her children in their backyard near the woods. She then vanished until George Spiering saw her in front of his house. “Right where you walk up, there’s this big dog on the porch,” George says. George contacted the police and animal rescue, who were overjoyed to discover that Abby had been microchipped.
Soon after, Abby was reunited with her ecstatic family. Abby hasn’t changed much over the years. She’s still cheerful, laid-back, and in good health. She’s been well cared for wherever she’s gone. She also has the same demeanor as Debra recalls.
“She would lie on the floor with her paws crossed, and she remembers my daughter’s commands as well as the commands I taught her,” Debra explains.
Abby must have been in the witness protection program, the family jokes. They’re overjoyed at her return and plan to throw her and the rest of the family a welcome home party soon.
