Meet Meatball (Meaty for short), a hole bull mix who now lives in California with his adoring family. With nearly 160k followers on Instagram, he becomes a well-known celebrity.
Even so, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows in his life. Meaty had to spend his days in a sanctum in Central Valley before having an ever-loving home and all that internet fame.
Thankfully, a caring woman named Lisa Reilly came to his res.cue and gave him a second chance at life.
She first saw him in a print posted on Facebook by Fresno Bully Rescue, a California no-kill sanctuary, she said.
“Well, he resembles a bowling ball,” Reilly observed. ” It’s difficult to tell how short he is in person, but he’s like a Mack Truck, low to the ground and wide. When we first got him, he’d just slam into you like a bowling ball of canine fat. As a result, he was dubbed “The Meatball,” or “Meaty” for short.”
Lisa’s heart melted as she remembered her old canine, Kitty, who had pas.sed away due to serious illness. As a result, she decided to take him home and provide him with the love and attention he so desperately needed.
“From the first time I saw Meaty until I was ready to bring him home, Fresno Bully Rescue did an excellent job nursing him,” Reilly told The Dodo.
And he hasn’t stopped smiling since he was rescued from the sanctum. Punky and Ricardo Tubbs, as well as dachshunds Bitty and Dappe, were among her other saved hole bulls.
