When a Border Collie went for a walk on the beach and asked a human to play fetch with him, the human refused to pick up the ball. But Hurley the dog had no way of knowing the human wasn’t human at all. It was a cast iron figure that was part of Anthony Gormley’s art installation at Crosby Beach in Liverpool.
Hurley was out for a walk with his human, Adam Shore, when the funny moment occurred. The dog dashed off to see if he could persuade someone else to play with him and ran into the statue.
Hurley, an 8-year-old border collie, was about to become perplexed. He runs over to the statue and drops the ball at its feet, barking and pleading with it to throw the ball. But it was in vain. For some reason, the “human” refuses to succumb to Hurley’s charms, which perplexes the dog.
Hurley tries again and again to get the statue to pick up his ball. He’s sending out all the signals. The ball has dropped. Lying down and pointing to it Barking. Hurley, on the other hand, is being i.g.n.o.r.e.d.
