A young woman brings her dog to the hospital to see her grandmother.

Shelby Hennick is a veterinary technician who is 21 years old. Her grandmother, Dona, is an animal lover as well.

Dona was admitted to the hospital a few days ago after experiencing complications from one of the medications she was taking.

She was unable to see Patsy, her beloved canine companion, due to her illness. Shelby’s mother was aware of Dona’s distress and advised Shelby to try to bring Patsy in to see her. Animals, as we all know, are often the best medicine.

Shelby wrapped Patsy up like a human baby and walked right into the hospital, fearful she wouldn’t make it through the doors.

Staff smiled and waved at her, oblivious to the fact that she was carrying a tiny dog rather than an infant. Shelby had even brought in her sister’s newborn baby for a visit, but Dona was pleasantly surprised when Patsy jumped right into her lap!

Patsy couldn’t stop crying when she saw her favorite human, according to Shelby. She is now 13 years old and was adopted by Dona when she was only a few weeks old. She required bottle feeding and nursing to recover her health, which Dona gladly provided. Their bond has grown stronger since then.

When Shelby posted the news on Twitter, it sparked a flood of similar stories!

It’s wonderful to know that dogs are truly enriching people’s lives even in the most difficult of circumstances.
