Humans who are kind to dogs are never forgotten.
Dora finally realized what it was like to be loved after years of neglect.
“For four years, she was chained outside and ignored. “I’ve only had her for 48 hours and she’s already refusing to leave my side,” Alex Flint writes.
“She was purchased by a family for their young daughter, who quickly lost interest in her,” Alex explained to DogHeirs. She was then chained outside for the next four years and largely ignored.”
“She was fed and not physically abused, which was a blessing.” She had no social skills with other dogs or people, but the foster home that had her before me did an incredible job getting her on the road to recovery,” he said. Dora was adopted by Alex from Speaking of Dogs, a Toronto-based rescue organization.
Dora must have sensed she was in good hands because she fell asleep in Alex’s car on the way home the day he picked her up!
“She still has some issues and needs off-leash training as well as more socialization,” Alex said, “but overall, she’s doing fantastic.”
Dora’s expression of adoration and trust in Alex in the photo below says it all: she’s finally found her human, and she’ll never leave his side.
